Foods That Increase Cancer Risk!

It is hard and painful to imagine that about 55,000 Iranians die every year from cancer. Cancer is known as the leading cause of premature death in the country, such that out of a total of 122,000 premature deaths (under 70 years old) annually, about 34,000 deaths and out of a total of 85,000 very premature deaths (under 50 years old), approximately 11,000 deaths occur due to various types of cancer. One of the most important factors in the development of cancer is an unhealthy lifestyle (consumption of inappropriate foods and etc.). Based on the latest national data, it is predicted that the number of new cancer cases in Iran will increase to 160,000 by 2025, which indicates a 43% increase. Interestingly, about 90 to 95 percent of cancer cases are related to lifestyle and food intake, while only 5 to 10 percent of cancers are related to genetic factors. In the following, we will examine the factors that may increase the risk of cancer.
