Maratan Khatam Company History
Marjaan Khatam is an independent knowledge-based private joint stock company that started activities since 2001 as a service company providing research and educational services to a variety of clients. The company operates in the field of providing laboratory services related to human and animal food, product inspection, research activities and holding specialized training courses, relying on its official licenses and certificates. The main mission of the complex is contributing responsibly to maintaining the health and hygiene of the community.
Lab Services
The extensive services of this department include mycotoxin measurement, pesticide residue measurement, heavy metal measurement, microbial tests, general chemistry tests, and determination of transgenicity in food products.
Measurement of pesticide residues in plants
Determination of plant-based pesticide residues using high tech equipment (GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS).
Mycotoxin Measurement
Determination of mycotoxins levels including aflatoxins (B, G and M), ochratoxin, deoxynivalenol, patulin, zearalenone in various human and animal feed types using a high efficiency liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Measurement of heavy metals
Measurement of heavy metals including lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, etc. in food using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA).
Microbial tests
Microbial tests including total counts of microorganisms and bacteria such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Listeria, mold and yeast, etc. in food and beverages using domestic and international guidelines.
General chemistry tests
Measurement of protein, fat, fiber, etc. in a variety of food products.
Determination of transgenicity
Detection of transgenicity (GMO) in food and agricultural products using a PCR device.
Achievements
• Selected and praised as the national model laboratory among all laboratory industry of Iran by the National Accreditation Center (2023-24)
• Repeatedly selected and praised as the national model laboratory during the recent years by the National Standards Organization and the Food and Drug Administration of Iran
• Acquired rank A in the skill tests held by the Food and Drug Administration
• Achieving acceptable results in numerous skill tests held inside and outside Iran by the laboratory industry authorities of different countries since 2005 including the international skill contest in measuring pesticide residues held by Italy (2023).

• License acquired from the General Directorate of Standards of Tehran Province to provide educational services in the fields of management systems, food industry, agricultural products, microbiology and product inspection
• License granted by the University of Medical Sciences (Deputy of Food and Drug Administration) for providing educational services in the field of food and beverage products
• Holder of License of Virtual Education issued by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance
