Effects of Cadmium on Pregnant Women
Dear ladies, be careful! You are more at risk than men!
You absorb more heavy metal! We mean, cadmium, which according to the FDA, can be found in most foods, and yes, it is carcinogenic!
Most women are anemic, and this would cause them to absorb most of the cadmium that enters their body through the intestines and store it in the body.
It is interesting to know that cadmium is more in plant foods than in foods of animal origin!
Apart from foods, 2 to 10 percent of cadmium that enters the body comes from smoking, and worse, a person exposed to such smoke absorbs 50 percent of cadmium through the lungs.
Cadmium can have a negative effect on the fetus, especially during pregnancy, and children born to mothers exposed to cadmium have both lower weight and shorter height.
And finally, this heavy metal can increase the risk of tooth decay and yellowing.
