When you want to buy a packaged food, to what things you primarily notice on the packaging in the first place? The price? Sugar and calorie content?! Production or expiration dates?
I want to tell you something important that you probably haven't paid any attention to until now!
Do you know what is the difference between this and this?
Let me tell you.
If you look at the ingredients, you will see a series of ingredients that start with the letter 'E' followed by a number. These are food additives such as the colorings, preservatives, sweeteners and other flavorings that are not usually found in your kitchen cabinet (like salt and pepper, etc.) for the daily use in cooking.
So whenever you see these ingredients, beware that these are ultra-processed foods!
Now, look at the ingredients on this product. Although there are no E numbers on it, but because they are processed to make them last longer, they are called processed foods.
So now that you understand the difference between the ingredients of packaged products, you should also know that ultra-processed products usually have low nutritional value and that consuming too much of them can be harmful to your health and to your child health, so manage your consumption.
And finally, remember that nothing can replace fresh, homemade food.
